Hoosier Feathered Friends is so thankful for having Dr. Stephanie Rosenbloom, Ph.D, as our Presenter at our HFF Zoom Sunday Meeting on August 3, 2025, at 2pm!

Here is a little bit about her:

Stephanie received her B.S. in Chemistry from The Pennsylvania State University (2016) and her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Cornell University (2021). A lifelong parrot enthusiast, Stephanie aims to explore the intersection of organic chemistry and avian sciences and is thus particularly interested in psittacine nutrition.

Stephanie is the cofounder of Nerdy Bird Collective, where she applies her skills as a trained researcher to curate evidence-based resources for companion parrot owners and maintains her practice as a parrot behavior and nutrition consultant. She believes that no one diet fits all birds, and that a “proper diet” is one that takes into account factors such as species, age, fitness, environment, and health history to meet the nutritional requirements of the parrot.

In addition to her work with parrots, Stephanie works as an education volunteer and raptor handler at The Raptor Center, where she assists in the care, management, and training of the education ambassador birds and leads discussions with the public about wildlife conservation.

Stephanie shares her life with her Alexandrine parrot, Petrie, her blue and gold macaw, Bowie, and her chinchilla, Jenson.

All the best,

Stephanie Rosenbloom

Special In-Person Event – Rockstar Rescue Tour 2025 Visited Indy’s Bird Fever on August 1, 2025!

August 1, 2025

5:30pm EST

Hoosier Feathered Friends is honored to have shared with you this very special in-person event! Rockstar Road Tour 2025 stopped by Bird Fever in Indy!

The Rockstar Rescue Tour was created in 2024 to showcase all the great work being done at rescues across the US while distributing product to the rescues from sponsors. Their mission is to support Parrot Rescues across the United States.

This summer, The Leather Elves hit the road to support the unsung heroes of avian rescue. They are partnering with Bird Gardens of Naples, Florida, in their compassion-fueled journey to deliver enrichment, toys, and supplies to 28 parrot rescues from Maine to Utah, back to Florida! These rescues care for hundreds of parrots who need more than just shelter – they need stimulation.  There are so many ways to donate and support this amazing cause! Come on out on August 1st, or click here: The Bird Gardens of Naples’ website.

Thank you for your support!
